Default Sydney drinks Thurs 14 June - something a bit different

Dear all

Sydney has some fantastic bars, and this Thursday - to make a change from a pub crawl - we thought it would be an idea to visit some of them!

So far, the list of potential venues includes:

The Argyle
ECQ Bar (where we may eat, as it's not ludicrously expensive)
Cafe Sydney (Customs House)
Blu Horizon Bar (Shangri-la Hotel)
The Summit (Australia Square)

Any other suggestions most welcome

People are welcome to come along to one bar, or all of them. A rough running order will be posted

Kick off will be 6.30pm.

Guess that the GG's will be coming then. We'll be there. Will be nice to try a few places at Circular Quay for a change.

Are you denying all knowledge of our earlier conversation about organising something?!

Are you trying to disassociate yourself from it just in case no one else wants to come?

No! Of course not. Got your PM, too. Sounds good - I'm sure we can manage that.

The trick is ... not to drink the Long Island Ice Tea.

Cascade Premium $8.50
Hahn Premium $8.50
Tooheys Extra Dry $8.50

Bearing in mind, most places would charge about $15 for a LIIT anyway. But without the view. So an extra $2 for a view doesn't seem too bad. And it's part of a pub crawl, so we'll not be in there for long.

I've been charged more than $2 more for drinks in some bars, and no view either

Tap water's free, anyway.

Should hope so, all the rain we've had of late.

We could always go to that Ice Bar thingy place - you have to pay just to get in the place apparently!

Why are people obsessing about Long Island Iced Teas again? This happened last week! And why do people like them?

Four measures of White spirit, coke and orange juice...

Sounds more like something you would clean paintbrushes in...

Don't ask me, I'm uncouth: I drink beer. (Well, what passes for beer over here.)

I only drink cocktails in lurid colours with obscene names. So if a Long Island Iced Tea became a Short Atoll Hot Shag and was purple and pink coloured (plus a few umbrellas), I'd have my wallet open in a shot.

Sounds like you need a Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster...

Apparently, it's much the same as "having your brains smashed out with a slice of lemon wrapped around a large gold brick."

Mmmm... Lovely...
