Sydney CBD after-work drink meet up

Re: Sydney CBD after-work drink meet up
Lord Nelson looks an excellent choice (even if I do say so myself ).
I expect Patrick will head straight there from work and I have bugger all on tomorrow, so we should be there by 6.30.

I'll need a night off from the in laws (they arrived yesterday, oh happy days) so I intend to come along for a couple before I get summoned...
They're lovely really...

Don't think we'll be able to make this one guys... First week at work and all that, picking up furniture from Warringah (sp?) Mall tomorrow evening too (late opening Thursdays).
We're not trying to duck out on purpose, we didn't think you were all freaks or anything (Swerv-o excepted LOL ), will definitely be up for more , just not this week!!

We'll be there tomorrow. Does anyone know whether this place does bar snacks, the brasserie looks good but perhaps a little too fancy for a Thursday night at the pub. There's a picture of a pie and a pint on the website, shall I take this as confirmation that it will serve our needs...

Tap beers are available in middies (half pints) or pints, along with many local wines by the glass. Its old world atmosphere, open fire in winter, homemade damper bread with cheese and pickles, pork pies as well as the blackboard menu make visiting the Lord a special experience.
I've just looked at review of the pub on another website - the pork pies are very popular...

Right then gang,
Now I can't make Thursday this week, due to unforseen (forgotten) commitments, so if you all still feel like going out then feel free to arrange something - I won't feel offended.
On the other side of Thursday however is Friday, which happens to be my birthday. Now the plans are a little loose at the moment, but it's largely going to involve a cheeky pub crawl around the city, starting around 7, ending up in the (now world famous apparently) club called Retro, which is a four floor monster, with each floor dedicated to a different decade of music - 70's - 00's apparently.
So if anyone here would like to let their hair down on Friday, whilst at the same time making me look really popular with loads of mates, then feel free to join us. Hopefully, there will be a pretty reasonable crowd. If it's not your cup of tea, then don't worry - I won't feel offended.
I will post more details either on Thursday or Friday, as they become available.
Cheers,
S

I will speak with Mr GG later but, if you don't mind a couple of gatecrashers, I think we might head out on Friday. You never know, we might even get to have a conversation! Mind, it's your birthday, there's beer .... Second thoughts ...
Can't do Thursday as I have a cricket match to follow.

OK, after much faffing around, tooing and fro-ing and what have you, A launch pad for Fridays drinks has been decided:
The Metropolitan Hotel Roof Bar
Cnr of George St and Bridge St
Sydney
http://www.metropolitanhotel.com.au/
So we shall be starting there at about 7ish. Probably moving on to the Bavarian Beer Cafe, Redoak and anywhere else that takes our fancy. We shall be ending the evening at a place called The Bristol Arms Retro Hotel,
http://theretro.com.au/
Which cunningly has a shagadelic Austin Powers tribute night on on Friday. Just hope the entry isn't one million dollars...
So that's the plan. Anybody who wants to come along, please do, and feel free to bring partners/boyfriends/girlfriends/bits on the side. All welcome.
If anyone wants to come later on, PM me and I will give you my phone number for ease of communication.
Cheers,
S
