Just wondering if any of you are heading for Sydney or are there already and could give some advice. We applied 27 August 07, have heard nothing yet. Have family in Coogee but seems expensive to rent house there. We would like bout 30-40 mins outside Sydney. Have 3 boys aged 11 5 & 4. Wondering where is a nice but reasonable place to live.
Cheers

South is ok with decent transport links.
North west in 'the hills' has good value rentals but transport links not quite so good.
North east, beaches, are great but not good links and a bit more expensive.
Depends on where you will be working and what schools you want to choose and the rental allowance you will give yourself. Check out the rental sites for prices and then make up a short list of areas and homes you like.
Everyone will have their own opinion of what they like and what suits them, we have gone for the beach lifestyle within a decent budget and have also allowed for commuting etc and are going to live in Northern Beaches. Keeping well away from the mania that is Bondi!! lol

We have been looking arounf the Revesby area. Its a long way out, but you get a lot more for your money and as i dont work in the city, then not too big an issue. Also looking at Manly in the short term

There's an official Sydmney thread that's dying onits arse, I'll bump it, see if we can't resurrect it. If Melbourne can get one going Sydney should be able to!

We looked at Revesby initially but the surrounding areas put us off, but you do get a lot of house for your money. Doesn't get the sea breeze though so gets kinda hot and dry!
