Default Swimming and/or horse riding lessons for kids

Hi,
Now obviously I understand that costs vary wildly from city to country and from state to state, but was hoping to find out the approximate cost of children's swimming lessons, and also horse riding (particularly in WA). Where we are now (greater London) swimming lessons for my 4 year old (4 kids in the pool) costs about £15/ half hour, horse riding about £1700000000/ second!!!
thanks

Roughly speaking, swimming lessons in Perth cost about $150 per term and there are 4 terms a year. The more junior levels have 2-4 kids per class, up to about 10 for older kids doing squads. Private lessons are also available for 1:1 or just your kids, from about $30 for a 30 minute lesson. Most lessons are 30 minutes, going up to 1 hour for junior squads and up to 2 hours for senior squads.

Most primary school kids do in-term swimming through the school for a 2 week period. Costs vary but may be $25-50. Some differences between schools on years that kids do lessons, but at our school everyone from Year 1 onwards does them, if parents want them to.

There are also school holiday swimming programs through the Ed Dept, for 1 or 2 week programmes, for about $1 per day plus entry fees, for school-aged children. Kids enter Year 1 from about 5.5 years, depending on their birthday.

In my area the local swimming school charges $13 per swimming lesson with three pupils per class.

Children after my own heart !! In WA, Depending where you are really dictates the what price of lessons are. In the swan valley, it would be cheaper as it is easier to keep horses. $30 perhaps ? I haven't had lessons on a horse that isn't mine for a long time !! Claremont show grounds has a riding school. But more expensive as it's far more central...
Champion lakes riding school is quite good I believe. Jennie brockmans is definitely preferable, there's plenty of info on www.cavalletti.com.au. Remba park is fairly nice too. Best of luck!

Thanks everyone,
That gives me a good idea what to budget for... in any case, seems quite a bit cheaper than in the Greater London area (there's a surprise!! - ha!)

Compares similarly with £7.50 per child per half hour in Newcastle, UK. However, we don't pay for swimming lessons when they go with the school.
