Don't restrict yourself to Collie, you could also try Busselton, Capel, Australind, Eton and several other small towns. Busselton may be worth a look as their is a huge amount of building at the moment and it's barely half an hour to Bunbury.

Hi,
Collie is a bit 'rougher' than Bunbury, land and housing is cheaper.
Keep in mind that if you live in Bunbury and work in Collie you've got a 40minute drive into the sun each morning, which is not pleasant.
Currently am in Boyanup which is rural but 20 minutes to Bunbury. There are lots of very nice suburbs of Bunbury as others have said. If you wanted somewhere in between Collie and Bunbury for a compromise in price then that I think would be Brunswick.
Cheers,
Gemma

I agree Gemma, personally I wouldnt move to Collie!
Brunswick always looks nice, I am also wondering if Donnybrook might be close enough to Collie but I'll have to get the map out as I'm not entirely sure if it's in the same sort of direction (I know they are both inland)

Brunswick, Roelands, Dardanup, Burekup, Ferguson Valley - all within easy driving distance to both Collie and Bunbury and lovely rural places to live.

On Google Earth 'Collie' looks to much of a town for us anyway, we want rural - not suburbs or urban sprawl - We have dogs and I need to be in an area that will allow over two without having to go down the 'permit' route and hubby works in construction but fine to travel and hour - so any suggestions of places to visit on a reccie would be great
