We fly out the 26th August and cant wait. We will also be north Brisbane / sunshine coast somewhere, equally unsure yet where exactly but after the long wait anywhere by the sea will be great. Noosa is a hot favourite for us as a great place to be based. But it depends where we get work.
Good Luck peeps

If you will have your own transport anywhere on the coast is an easy run so all 3 choices are fine. Moooloolaba will probably be quite busy in December as will Noosa. If you're depending on public transport maybe you should stay away from Marcoola, it's a bit out of the way.
I don't think you'll go wrong wherever you decide to stay, even if yo go a bit further inland you'll be within about half an hour from a decent beach.
I see from your profile that you like kite surfing, we were in Caloundra on a Sunday last December and there were over 20 kite surfers doing their thing in the passage between Caloundra and Bribie Island mostly setting off from the beach at happy Valley.
Good Luck.
