Sunshine Coast Airport Info Please
Hi all,
Just sold our house in UK after 11 months going rented here for 6 months then flying out in May 2006. Got a possible job interview for aircraft engineer position once i arrive at Sunshine coast airport with a company called Aeromil. Anyone know the area for living (good or bad ??) or any other info schools etc would be much appreciated.

Be aware the traffic going over the maroochy bridge in peak has to be seen to be believed would rival traffic jams anywhere, one lane each way bridge to get everyone who works north of maroochy in they are eventually supposed to start new bridge maybe 2 years?
Jobs dont know anthing about planes but be very aware Qantas is in a huge battle with workers at the mo to send 3000 maintenece jobs to asia, probably not what you want to hear but if you want honest info I guess that will make jobs very competitive in OZ.
Airport areas are minutes to surf beaches, large shops cinemas etc at maroochy, local supermarket etc in mudjimba. Within 10 mins drive you could be in maroochy, alex, buderim, coolum etc so plenty of choice where to live.

Hi,
As for work on the Sunshine Coast I don't think you will have any problems with Qantas. There is a very big GA scene at YMBC with training, charter and most other things you can think of all operating out of there.
If you are used to working on AC >7600 the work may dry up with Qantas but other wise don't worry, LAME's (as they are calle over here) are in BIG BIG demand.
