Default sunshine coast ...

Can any of you sunshine coasters tell me what maternity hospitals/birth centres there are locally. I'm a midwife moving to the sunshine coast early next year. I'm assuming that where there are people, there will be women having babies, therefore jobs. I can't find anything on the web. Thanks.

Hi Rachel
My wife has recently had a baby and I have therefore been dragged around all the appropriate hospitals,Nambour public is the main one on the coast with a large matt ward,Selangor (also in nambour)is the main private hospital very pricy only an option if you have private med care there is also a private hospital in Noosa and a large one in Buderum. After checking all these we went for Caboolture (50 ks north of Brisbane) the service was great and the midwife was a pomme!!!! this was our 5 and the and I have to say Australia offers as good as if not a little better(with regards to after care)than the UK, all be it quite a different process.

hope this is of help

Regards Steve
