Default Stupid question about mobile phones

Ok, so husband (technological dinosaur) wants to get a smart phone (iphone4 or Samsung Glaxy S).

We're a bit confused by all this "cap" stuff mentioned by all these companies. If he signs up for an Unlimited deal does it literally mean all his calls are free even if he spends hours on the phone? If not, what DOES it mean?

yes that's right, they are all "free". However you have to read the terms and conditions carefully... sometimes you'll find that 1300 numbers aren't included in the cap.

I got an SGS for my wife, on vodafone. includes $700 calls, plus 2gb internet per month.

Cost $69.99 per month, 12 month contract.... also got 10% off, and the first 3months free.... pretty good bargain really.

Depends on how many calls you make. Amaysim are a new player with competitive rates if you don't spend all day on the phone. My bill last month was $2 plus $10 for data, 90% of which wasn't used. They didn't bother billing the $2 but just carried it over!
