Studying in Australia.......
Hello everyone! This is my first post as i am a new member.
The situation is this...My Mum, Dad and I are hopefully moving to Griffith, NSW within the next couple of months, just waiting for the Visa to be officially accepted! I really want to study over there but I'm so confused about how i go about it! I'm sure i need to apply for an additional student Visa or something. If i do manage to study over there it will probably only be at college level, the price of studying in Aus is mental! I'm only 18 and still a bit clueless about what i want to do with my life too, so that's not a big help either! I'm going to need a job or a loan to cover those fees....but HOW DO I DO IT?!
I'd appreciate any help you can give!

Ask on the immigration forum, if you've not already done so. Being on a temporary visa is going to make your life much more complicated and may even mean you can't stay in Australia long term, even if your parents manage to do so.
Out of interest, why are your parents not applying for a permanent visa instead? (eg ENS or RSMS).

Re: Studying in Australia.......
thanks for the info! In reply to your question, my mum found out about the whole Australia thing in the 'nursing standard' magasine, where there was an advert for nurses who wanted to live and work in Australia. I think the company is called HealthStaff recruitment. Anyway, to cut a long story short, my mum cannot apply for a permanent visa just yet becuae she does not have 3 years post graduate nursing experience (she only has 2), so we're going in on a temporary one until we can apply for a permanent one!

Hi Laura,
How weird, Griffith is not the largest of towns but my husband is also moving there within the next month to take up a job at Barrters(poultry company. I am also a nurse and specialise in intensive Care. However, my daughter (16, yr 11) and I are going to Brisbane to further her education as she wants to carry on with school so she can go to college after graduation. If you do wish to go to college/uni, Wagga Wagga has an excellent campus. It's about 2 hours drive from Griffith. Not sure about the fees though. I'm sure if you e-mail them, they'll be able to give you some advice.
Good Luck!!
