Is it possible to get extra baggage allowance when flying to Oz with a one way ticket, when going to study as a student on a 1 year or 2 year student visa?

Our intention is to to study and then apply further down the line for PR. We just wondered if there is extra allowance for baggage in these circumstances?

From our experience with our daughter no, but it could be worth trying she flew with emarites but they did not seem to have a problem with her 26kg suitcase (it put on weight over night it was 20kg then ) and her 15kg hand luggage good job they did not weigh her hand bag I think she had her lap top in that! oh do not forget the coat with the large pockets just be creative!
She has a four year visa and we hope PR visa july/aug.
