hey, give Dry Blackthorn credit... at least they put a couple of apples in the socks before they get them sweaty!

I can't believe they're still making the stuff - I was trying to avoid it in pubs 15 years ago. Would have thought it would have been banned due to serious stomach poisoning by now. :scared:

I had a pint of Bulmers last night at a pub in the CBD

my other half calls cider 'tramp juice' so I try to order it when he's not around :o

Get him really worried by leaving a few six packs of 'Strongbow Super' lying around the kitchen, and examing public bins a little too closely when you're out with him :D

Actually I cant drink cider.

When I was 13 my family moved to Somerset and bought some cider from "Sheppey's farm shop". They gave me some to try at Sunday lunch. After I had seroptitiously "tried" 3 glasses I threw up and went to sleep for the whole of the rest of Sunday.

Haven't been able to touch it since!

Cheers

Not only can you get strongbow, you can also get scrumpy jack's (bloody marvellous stuff that is!). Actually some Brit pubs even have scrumpy on tap !

Doesn't taste the same, but it's here. After a while you'll forget what it's "supposed to" taste like.

There's another brand called Mercury (from Tasmania) that a mate of mine thought was the best thing since sliced bread, but I couldn't see what the fuss was about - okay but not brilliant.

My husband did the same thing with cider when he was a teenager, and can't stand the smell of it. When we go to the pub he holds my glass away from him on the way back from the bar ( 16 years) god he must love me. I have been known to release bodily fluids due to many pints of cider but strangely enough I still love it and drink it. I think you should give it another go on a long hot Sunday afternoon.

Half a glass was all it took for me to decide that the rest was going out the window - literally. Poured from 3 stories up, it made a nice splashing noise when it hit the ground. :D

Might buy it as an antifreeze replacement next winter, though.

Please do not put that dreaded cider anywhere near your car. It will kill it off. I'm glad there were no people under the window when you poured the cider out, they may have thought it was acid rain. Dry Blackthorn cider was sent by an evil person to destroy the human race, (well those that drink cider). Do not touch it, Do not go near it. You will only encourage more to be produced. This is your final warning !!!!!!
