Gday Happy New Year.

We watched the storm, rage from Tamborine from about 6:30pm onwards, it finally hit us at about 7 ish.

The flashes of lightening, were like a stroboscope, flashing all around about 100 times per second. Truly amazing.

Nature at its best !

The sky turned a yellow, well everything around us seemed tinted with a sienna hue, then the eye of the storm, was over us. The wind picked up, bending palm trees like a card players fingers !

The storm, was awesome i must admit, and worthy of removing telephone wall sockets, aerials, and moving cars under cover.

One good thing, the rain has helped slightly fill our depleting pool. SO tomoz we may get barracuda working again !

After a very hot last cpl of days, and having endured unbelieveable humidity and heat today, the storm brought much needed cooler air.

Don't smoke anything either ;) , seriously freaky lightning, havent ever seen anything like it before. There were about 10 of us standing on the verandah when it struck (twice), even the kids were gobsmacked by it & were still going on about the green lightning when they went to bed  .[/QUOTE]

ok - so you don't smoke - don't drink - were there any mushrooms on the menu last night?........ :D

Must admit - was surprised just how 'cool' it gets. Bit of a shock when the B&B landlady put the electric blankets on and we had the heat on all night long. We were at Shorncliffe at the time, but then we also stayed at Byron Bay during the winter and that was even colder. And Sydney was coat and sweater weather at night. Surprised they didn't start selling mulled wine at the pubs! :D Still - great daytime temps tho :D

Yeah garlic ones too. I didnt have any of them, but Eddie did - maybe it was just the vapour cloud from him that did it? :D

We saw a big flash and heard a big bang last night, very close to each other, and it made my daughter scream. It made me wonder just how close it was.

We still needed the air con on, as it was still pretty warm.
