Stopovers!!
#1
Can anyone help please. Looking to fly to Perth Jan 08 with a stopover on the way for the 3 kids who are all under 6 and the only place I can think of is Singapore. Really don't know if that is the best place to go
. Kids want a beach holiday as obviously as a bit too young to shop
but not sure if Sentosa Island does it for me! Anybody been there? OR anybody know of somewhere you can stop off that you don't have to get on another plane or travel 2 hours on a bus to get to a beach resort?
Thanks in advance

Singapore would probably be the best place for a stopover. It is clean, safe and friendly with lots to do. As for the beach though, not too sure. If that is what the children really want, forget the stopover and keep going on to Perth - plenty of beach to be had there. I've done the trip from UK to Perth with my young children on many occasions and it is much easier without the stopover, especially with so much luggage! A couple of hours spent in Changi Airport is a blessing after the long journey and it is enough to refresh you for the last leg to Perth. If you leave London around midday and get into Singapore in the morning, you'll be in Perth mid afternoon. A quick swim for the kids, an early dinner and you'll all get a good nights sleep. It will be really hot in January so be sure to stay in airconditioned comfort. Swimming to keep cool is not a good option, especially between 11am and 3 pm.

Thanks for all the advice, I really appreciate it. I really am in 2 minds whether to stop over or not, but just keep thinking, when would I ever see Singapore again - well of course I will but just think it might be too good an opportunity to miss.
Thanks about the tips on the heat, I am concerned about that too
but is there ever a good time to go? Anyway, it will all work out one way or another, I suppose.
Thanks again

However, they would love the night Safari ( it was the highlight of my whole trip to OZ ) and I here the zoo is supposed to be fantastic as well. The zoo and safari are next to each other, so you can do the zoo in the day, have a meal and do the safari on the night.
I would love to go back.

We're stopping over in Singapore for 4 nights with two little'uns who are 5 and 3.
Sentosa's islands beach looks good enough for us to relax on, the kids won't think it's any different to any other beach !
We intend to go to the zoo, cable car, safari, a little shopping, and I mean a little as my eldest detests it!
Basically we just want to chill as when we arrive in Oz we will be hitting the ground running!

Would second night safari as a good option for kids when in Singapore.
Sentosa has a night time disney like show for kids which they seem to enjoy.
Jurong bird park also a good option for kids as there is lots to see and a tree house type affair where you can hand feed some of the local widlife.

Fly to Singapore, leave emigrating luggage there, and fly to Penang for a few days with your holiday luggage. Penang's an hour and a half away and it'll cost your family about £450 for the return flights on Singapore air.
This is what I'm doing
