Hi all,
This is Murali.SA immigration have send my papers to DIMIA for proceess of STNI nomination.CAn any one suggest how long does DIMIA takes to process nomination application,if nomination approved how long does it takes to procees for visa approval.Please suggest.

Hi Murali,

The time it took dimia to contact us after STNI approval was 4 weeks. It was within a week of sending medicals etc that the visas were granted. Obviously each case is different but they were very quick with us.

Just to let you know for us it was about 4 weeks total but then we were only given less than 3 months to actually get to Aus. Having booked flights 8 months later was a mistake so wait for your paperwork before you book the flights. We lost the deposit only so it was not too bad.

Got STNI for SA in April this year after applying Oct 2002.

Oct 2002 - application for STNI
Nov 2002 - signed & returned declaration. Nomination submitted.
Dec 2002 - acknowledgement of nomination.
March 2003 - request for medicals, police checks.
April 2003 - visa granted.
