Well, what do you think not only of the suspension but of the act's thier self?
The "Sledging" and "getting under thier skin" that goes on in Australian sport is ridiculous.
To be sport the team shoud aim to win on sporting abilility, not how much they can assault and aggravate a players injury.
I spoke to a couple of Aussies at work about this and they reckoned Steven Baker did nothing wrong, it was all about getting "under the skin".

OK, so who is Steven Baker and what was he suspended for? Hang on was he the AFL marker who kept punching his opponent - what a dick. Terrible example to youngsters. Sure it's a tough, fast game but that was BS what he did.

There is shoving and riling that goes on, but Baker was doing far more than that. Stevie Johnson had obviously hurt his hand (was a suspected break at the time) and Baker purposefully punched it. Stupid behaviour.
Stevie Johnson did also get a suspension for retaliating but really, who could blame him?
Oh, and in case you can't guess...........GO CATS!!

Its now turned out that it was a broken hand and I think Steven Baker's suspension was deserved, but then again I would - GO CATS

Just to stir things up---could sport in Oz be so vicious, and taken so seriously, because it is about such an irrelevant activity and is really a form of vicarious living in substitution for its rather bland culture and society??.I only asked!!!

Daniel Kerr was interviewed the other night and stated that if the team Doctor gave the ok for the player to continue, he was fair game. The sport culture is really different here in Oz.

On the News last night a Father in tears as his teenage son is banned from playing AFL for life, for assulting an umpire, I wonder where he got it from?, These lot must be thick as F**k thinking they can get away with their behaviour on the field and wonder why it's not acceptable to deliberatley strike the opposing team players whether involved in play of not. F**K WITS the lot of them..

Call me racist, call me generalising, but I see a lot of assaults by these 'powerfully built young men' who then run like hell and hide within their family who protect them after they have done their cowardly acts! Tossers the lot of them! Reminds me of the old UK football hooligans who acted similarly!
Lets hope the fathers tears were of shame rather than disappointment, although I don't hold out much hope!
