Know exactly where you're coming from Scoobs.
We will probably rent, and keep the money in the U.k.
Maybe someone like TerryG could let us know where the best place to keep a few quid would be.Also,do you think you could leave the cash in an account of a non-taxpayer-e.g kid or O.A.P parent ?
BB-burns a hole in me pocket anyway

Spend £20k each on premium bonds, it doesn't earn interest much, but you get to win quite often I'm told, but not the big prize . Makes life interesting though.

Thought your lucky day was in July

Father in law reckoned you could earn at least 4% per annum in premium bonds.
I did 4000 for the last two years and still in, so far 50 quid win!!!! It is a lottery or is it I am not lucky? But then again I am living in Aus and intending to stay for a few years more.
Best of luck....I agree with the principle

Hi Sandra
Isnt it past your bedtime ?
Premium bonds are the only opputunity to win a million pounds sterling and get your money back.
Given an average person's luck - you will earnt more than any bank or building society instant notice or 30-day account.
You could also however win larger prizes.
Good luck
