Staying behind
Anyone else staying in the uk to sell/rent out house whilst the rest of family goes ahead?
My OH and son 17 fly out on Friday and I am fed up, would have been better for us all to have gone together but hey the job wont wait forever! |
Re: Staying behind
I'm doing it the other way I'm the one off first. I know totally how you feel though it's going to be hard to say goodbye even though I know when he's arriving. There's always a reason for things, so you may just find out that a little more time spent here pays off for you.
Wish you & yours all the best for the future |
Re: Staying behind
I did this last year, was here for 4 months on my own while OH and kids were still in UK....not much fun, in the end they came out with the house still not sold just left the solicitor to deal with it.

Re: Staying behind
Thanks for your replys, at least I am not the only on doing this.
I think its the uncertainty of not knowing how long it will take to sort the house out that is realy getting to me, but I am sure we will all survvie |

Re: Staying behind
Yep, me too, OH and daughter (16) are in Oz, I'm left behind cleaning, sorting and trying to rent and go to work at the same time:confused: (now how did that happen).:sneaky:
OH went out in March we went a week later just to validate our visa. came back then went out (me and daughter) again in August, and this time I came home alone. Dog went out also in August and came out of quarantine the day before I came home, so yes its pretty lonely and quiet, but on the other hand there's lots to do to keep me occupied :eek:as shippers coming 27 Oct, so cant complain i'm bored:rofl: |
Re: Staying behind

Re: Staying behind
God what an awful position to be in. Have you got a VERY trusted family member/friend and if so, is it possible to seek legal advice and sign power of attorney over to them and work things out with them from over here. A huge leap of faith, but with the current housing market you may be stuck here for a very, very long time. The estate agent will sort the viewings and the rest can be done on the internet these days so there's almost no need to be here. Just a thought and good luck for the future.
