Well not posted on here for quite some time (didn't want to tempt fait!).

But just had a posative back from the Australian Computer Society (classed as an I.T. Manger in their eyes), our agent is now looking to see if Victoria will sponser us. For all those who have already been there and done it, how long does it usually take?

Also if we do get sponsership (fingers crossed) how long on average does the visa's take to come through after that (we have to get police checks and medicals yet, but donn't want to do so until we are sure we'll get sponsership).

For a 'yes' on state nomination it was about two months. You could be lucky and put your CV in just before they are due to meet to discuss your profession.

Took 3 months to do forms forms and medicals for us.

From submitting to Aus Immigration to getting visa was 6 weeks. We front-loaded.

Really painless, people in Vic Gov are very helpful and happy to take questions.

I got state sponsorship from Victoria - took about 6 months as I was waiting from the panel. I waited until after Id got my TRA and did it online.
My visa timeline id as follows: Visa submitted 30 May, meds requested 27 Nov, arrived in Oz 15 Dec, still waiting on Visa.

From submitting to obtaining visa about 6 months.

I got state nomination from WA, it took 11 days and then the visa application took just over 4 months.
