state nomination
Hi all, does anyone know how long it takes to get an answer from victoria when you have submitted your cv to find out if they will nominate you? Thanks. Michelle.

remember seeing a thread that mentioned that decisions on STNI for Victoria are processed every 12 weeks?
maybe do a search on the forum & you might be able to find the details

Victoria STNI
My migration agent put our application forward for STNI on the 12th December, and we've still not had a response.
We chased this week, and this is the (edited) response we received.
Hope this helps!
Glenn's application is currently before our industry panel and we are
waiting on a result for him. Unfortunately we are experiencing a slight
delay at the moment with the panel, due to an overwhelming number of
applicants.
We will advise you as soon as we have an answer for him. We advise all our
clients, or their representatives, of the outcome whether it is positive or
not.
Hopefully we will have some news soon!

I am applying under the trade of IT Security, my specific qualification is CISSP. I did exactly the same as you Michelle i.e. had to resend my application with CV afterwards, what trade are you applying under Michelle and gbarker ?

Glenn, what actually happens when we submit our application to VIC state ? Does it just sit there and wait until the 12 weekly meeting, get examined and a declaration given of yes or no, or does it have to go elsewhere for assessment (ACS) ?

Victoria STNI
As far as I am aware, STNI have nothing to do with skills assessment. Once you have your skills assessment from ACS you don't need to worry about that part of the application any more.

i applied direct to STNI without putting in to DIMA yet, does anyone know when I should be doing any sort of correspondence with ACS regarding an assessment ?
btw Glenn do you use MSN Messenger or similar as i want to try and build up a network of IT related contacts who are in a similar predicament to me as I may once I have my roots set in OZ(All assuming I actually get a VISA Eventually) set up an IT Security Consultancy firm, I actually run one in the UK at present www.consultandsee.com but would love to do the same but in a better and cheaper climate

you should probably be considering sorting out your skills assessment now.
As even with STNI you can't apply for PR without it!

were applying under my husband (bricklayer) I qualify as a nurse next month but I understand I need a years experience and we dont want to wait that long. We are going to wait for the outcome from victoria before we get husbands skills assessed in case they say no then we will wait until we can go out on my application. Dont want to have to pay out for bricklaying skills assessment and then vic say no and we have to go the long way of doing it especially if we can get fast tracked as soon as I can apply - it will still work out quicker! I hope!! When do you think we will hear from Vic?

Know what you mean - but your hubby will have to have skills assessed anyway in order to work as bricklayer in Aus.
Would it not be worth doing his skills assesment anyway?
