Default Stat Dec signators

I've been looking at previous posts and i'm trying to work out who can and cannot sign a statutory declaration.

I realise it has to be a JP a solicitor or a magistrate, but getting friends and family to visit their solicitors so they can sign it in front of them is a real pain in the behind.

Can doctors, teachers sign a SD?

I would think Doctors are OK. My uncle is a Policeman and he sent one of his colleagues (couldn't do it himself cause we are related!!) around to my house to witness and sign ours. These were duely accepted by DIMIA because I now have my visa.

Like you say, the problem is getting everyone together. It can be done but just needs time to organise it.
