Hi,
We're aiming to be in Perth by August next year, can anyone tell me whether my 5 year old daughter will be able to start school straight away or whether she'll have to wait until the start of the next school year the following January??
Cheers.

Not a problem, she should be able to start school straight away. They have loads of new arrivals starting mid term.

We arrived in Mandurah one week, the children started school the next! You'll need to show proof of residence in the area, as you have to attend the catchment school, rental agreement, gas bill that type of thing. If you then move house again, the children can stay on in their school, the catchment thing only applies when they first start. If you're choosy about which school, then you need to look for houses in that school's catchment only. We kept our kids off school for a few weeks while we were house-hunting.
