Default starting packing up

hi there,

We are coming over in June and would like to start packing up things like cd's/dvd's that we will not be using before we come. We will obviously be getting our stuff shipped but as yet have not gotten any quotes.

My question is can we pack things up into boxes now or will this cause a problem with the packing/exporting company (I understand this has something to do with insurance?!)

If I can start packing things do I need to do a list of everything in each box i.e every DVD/CD?

Thanks for any advice.

When we moved over we were told by the packing company not to pack anything as yes it would effect the insurance. we were told to not even empty our cupboards as they would only unpack the boxes and repack them which would just p**s them off. I suppose at the end of the day it will depend on which company you use and their policy. The only thing we did do was put some big things into their origional boxes if we had them but we didnt seal them up so the guys could check what was in each one and seal them up themselves. Hope this helps.

Thanks Nev, will obviously get differing advice from different shipping companies. Probably best to wait until I have contacted them first.
