Re: Starting an internet business In Australia
I think the big thing with the .com.au is that you know the prices are in A$. This was probably more important when the A$ was worth less than the US$.

Very well done! It's an exciting challenge for sure and I believe the rewards can be very great. I'm also thinking of roping in relatives later on to help. Thanks for the links.
Good luck! :fingerscrossed::cool: It is rewarding, but it is totally consuming. I dream about spreadsheets and Google Analytics, and my poor hubby and children are tired of hearing about it I am sure! Got another sale today though which is always a nice feeling! Hopefully with a bit of luck and lots of trial and error I can make it fly! And if not, well at least I gave it a go. Nothing ventured and all that! |

And is there not biz or something like now? Best of. :) As a thought I see that the Australian government has a New Enterprise Incentive Scheme. I could do with all the advice possible with setting the business up properly but I'm guessing that this scheme is only available to Aus citizens and > 2 year resident migrants. Is that correct? |

Not sure they're needed. I've noticed a lot of start-ups who have not registered the .biz and .org domains.

Only mentioned it as I had an experience of having a .com name and someone else then had the same name with the .org. Not sure if it's a major problem but might confuse?

Lovely lady. I was only thinking about her the other day. She's done well by the looks of things.

About to register the company. Are there any advantages/disadvantages in delaying obtaining the ATO until just before launch of the business?

Re: Starting an internet business In Australia
This is proving to be good source of information:
http://www.wecancreate.com/blog/lega...-introduction/ I have considered enlisting experts to help with setting up the business but especially because it's so early-stage (lots of work needed to build the web site, etc) I'm terrified that experts might see it's potential, nab the idea and get it to market before I can. |
