Starting the ball rolling thanx to BE !

Just wanted to finally get myself involved on BE ! I've been searching and researching relocating to Oz since February and have decided that the move would be feasible for myself (midwife), hubby (youth offending panel team member), 17 yr old daughter (trainee engineer), 10 yr old daughter who has epilepsy but is well controlled and has 100% attendance at mainstream school, my 6yr old son and the dog (jack russell).
We have never been to Australia and we don't know anyone out there already, but all 5 of us have agreed and really want to give it a whirl ! We were torn for a few months between Melbourne and Brisbane but I have just received a formal job offer at Mater in Brisbane as clinical midwifery facilitator, so thats kind of decided it for us. I am waiting for sponsorship confirmation but have had a verbal offer and have been reassured it won't be a problem. I have just started my registration process with Queensland Nursing Board and am beginning to get excited now.
I would just like to thank all of you on BE for your sound advice and sharing of your experiences, it really has helped us out alot in our decision making. We are aiming to hopefully arrive February-ish 2008 and hope to meet up with some of you then.
