Sponsorship/Job Shortages
Hi everyone,
I am really hoping I can gain some advice/insight into the job market in Australia. We are desperate to move to Oz and as we are now 40 & 47 are finding our options limited.
I have ascertained that my only real option to make the move to Australia would be via a 457 sponsorship visa. I had one back in my twenties when I was in recruitment, in fact back then it seemed that every expat I met in Oz that was on a 457 visa was doing recruitment, is this still the case? or are there other jobs shortages that hold sponsorship opportunities??
I am looking to do an NVQ in childcare/early childhood development, can anyone shed any light on if this type of qualification would be of benefit for finding work in Oz?
Thank you in advance, any advice/guidance would be much appreciated.
Kind Regards
Nina

However, the place to start is the SOL/CSOL (google can find you the current lists) to see if either of your occupations are there.

Just something to be aware of - a 457 may end with you having to go home again.

About 70% of the employment agency staff I talk to are Poms. Not sure how easy it is to get sponsored though with the work drying up.
Good luck
