You keep going like this it wont be the spiders u have to worry about... it will be the nervous breakdown !! lol. Seriously though, they really arent that bad. Just remember u are sooooooo much bigger than them and they are more terrified of u, than u are of them... although.. maybe not in ur case lol Honestly though, they do not jump on u or attack u and will use every one of them 8 legs to run like hell away from u. |

"child persuaders". When my kids were little and if I had a huntsman in the house, I used to tell them it was my friend "Fred" ( yes not a very original name I know lol ) Anyway, I used to tell them that Fred was watching them and if they didnt go and clean their rooms up Fred wouldnt be very happy. Worked a treat, although I really dont know why I have never been nominated for Mother of the Year lol Now that they have grown up, not even a hairy spider named Fred can persuade them anymore, so I just leave them where they are. Like Pollyana said, they do eat a lot of the other bugs that can get in ur house and they are harmless. If I ever do move them, I just get a broom and let them crawl on it, take it outside and shake it off in the garden. |

Re: Spiders - how bad..........really !
I am not afraid to say, I hate huntsman - I'd rather see a red back on the wall than a huntsman! I go all girly and do the dancing feet thing, pushing everyone/thing out of the way to get out of the vicinity...
I grew up in Australia and have come across a fair few of the things and they freak me out as much now as they did when I was 8!!!!! :scared: 2 memories out weigh all others..... my Mum answering a wall phone and just as she went to pick up the receiver, a giant set of legs comes out each side of the receiver.... *cue mad dancing moment* and the other memory.... waking up and discovering a huntsman above my head on the wall above my bed. I could not move in case it jumped.... I had to inch very slowly down the bed, whimpering slightly. :scared: |

Have you people no sense of decency?!! Stop this immediately! Right ... now!
Not only do you post these obscene horror stories, but even back them up with the most appallingly graphic photographs imaginable. And the result? My dear Miss Chloe, having perused this thread, is now demanding our first purchases be survival supplies for every room, including sufficient sustenance for the up to 7 days she foresees barricading herself in until rescuers arrive toting flame-throwers. And just when I'd finally managed to convince her Australia was the only spider-free country on earth. All right now, everyone, you've had your little fun. It's time to come clean, admit this was all a hoax. You should be ashamed of yourselves: Everyone knows there are no insects in Australia except butterflies. |
Re: Spiders - how bad..........really !
yeah, butterflies who have long hairy legs and fangs with venom :D
