speeding tickets.

9pm pitch black, unlit road and boom I get flashed! by a van hiding in bushes. annoyingly, I saw the red ir light miles back and slowed but stayed around 85 thinking that it had already got me so there would have been no point slowing. it may have got the car behind as it went off much later than I thought it should have. but in case it didnt, what can I expect?

I'm on a 457, UK licence as I havent bothered to get a WA one yet, annoyingly I planned to on tuesday!

anoyn know how the demerits would work being I don't have a licence?

not hugely bothered about a fine... anyone know what I can expect if it was me?

85 in a what? 40, 50, 60 zone? 80 zone? How many km over the limit makes a difference.

Also the fact that it's double demerits this weekend...

My friend in SA put her dad's name down as the driver (lives in Wales - wasn't here at the time). They sent letter and a fine over so she paid the fine off but no points :-)

Appeal. Husband got his first letter about speeding and appealed the fine he got a caution and that was that. It took about 10 weeks until we received the letter this week. No points either
Will email you the vic details not sure WA ones though...

Get caught out pulling that stroke and you risk much more than a fine and a few demerits

At only 5 kms over, you should only get a fine (about $150 I think) and no demerits. Any demerits you do accrue will likely be added to your WA licence once you get it

85 in an 80 zone, that is pathetic. I dont mind these revenue fines being handed out when you are maybe 10 or 15 over but 5 is ridiculous.

I got points and a fine on the A45 in Coventry for doing 43 in a 40. I agree, pathetic.

Well you should have contested it because in the UK they have a 10% plus i think 2 mph tolerance so you were incredibly unlucky. ;)

Who can be arsed contesting, I certainly can't. It was 14 years ago, the night the Princess of Wales died to be precise. That is why I won't ever forget it.
