Default Speeding fine?

Been speaking to Brother in Law in Oz today about our holiday next month and hopefully studying in Perth in October. Good long chat but then he comes out with a comment that has worried us a bit!

When we were last there 3 years ago and we were driving back up to Perth from Margaret River my husband was caught speeding in his brother's car.

We will obviously pay any fine due that is not a problem but we're worried that this might have a knock on effect with both getting through immigration on our holiday and our student visas?

Brother in Law has kept the form stating that it wasn't him driving the car and that it was my husband and that he sent this off to the driving standards people.

Anyone with any suggestions/help?

Thanks

I don't think it will be a problem. They are more concerned about big stuff to be honest.

Do make sure that he declares it though as an omission will look very suspicious.

Hiya,
I wouldn't worry too much. I was done for speeding while in Oz 3 years ago. I only found out after I had left the country and my mother in-law received the fine as it was her car. She did as your brother did, notified the authorites that I was driving and passed them my details. I paid the fine and thought that would be the end of it. However, for some reason they then wrote to me in the UK and said I was banned from driving for 3 months from the date I next entered Oz. I applied for my skilled independent visa last year, I gave details of the offence, but was never questioned further. My 175 Visa arrived without a hitch last month. Hope this puts your mind at ease.
