Speech Therapy in WA
Can anyone recommend a speech therapist in/ near Mandurah?

We saw one in Freo, if that's any use. Took forever to get an appointment, though.

Thanks for that! My son has been referred through his 3 year old kindy, but I have been told by the school that I'm looking at a year wait before he will be seen by a medicare therapist! Been advised the best bet is to go private!

It costs nothing to have your name down on a waiting list, which also buys you some time to look at alternatives if someone else has a recommendation.
A friend of mine and a mum from school got their kids into the Speech and Learning Centre (? near Lake Monger, don't know if there's another one SOR) and they still attended when going to kindy and pre-primary.
I had an email from Fremantle Speech Pathology with some info:
There are three speech pathologists working at Fremantle Speech Pathology Services; Jenny Baker, Donna Watts and Cassandra Baker. The clinic specialises in language and literacy disorders from pre-primary through to Year 12.
It is a good idea to phone your Health Insurance fund to ask what rebate you are entitled to for both the assessment as well as the treatment sessions. Also, remember to ask how much you can claim for your child over the course of a year, as this varies with the different funds and lengths of memberships.
