Hi, finally got over to OZ last week and me and my mate are trying to find some short term work as sparkies. Were currently in Adelaide and we've contacted a few companys etc. But they all want you to have your license to work as a spark. Obviously this takes time and i dont even think you can get one while on a working holiday visa. So if anyone could give us some advice, point us in the right direction that would be a great help cheers,
Drew

No body will take you on with out a License, And that will be for the whole of Aus , as its illegal to do so , and who ever does risk,s there own license etc.
Try pier Tek in adelaide, to get your license, that will take about 2 weeks if you are good, and cost a few hundred $$$$.
Other than that ring people out of the paper, as a sparks mate. ( maybe)

Good question.
Closest I could find is a company that makes helical peirs etc for foundation stabilization. Nothing to do with electrician's licences.
You need to see this SA government body:
Regulators for electricians, electrical fitters, cable jointers, lineworkers, restricted electrical licences, electrical contractors
SA Office of Consumer and Business Affairs
GPO Box 1719
Adelaide SA 5001
DX225
Tel: (08) 8204 9696
Fax: (08) 8204 9697

the best i can suggest is that you get work as TA`s trade assistants/sparks mate to be honest on the books its only a couple of bucks less per hr than a spark

and non of the responsibilites

Drew813;
if your going to to the wiring rules course at PEER make sure you know all the new regs that came into effect from the 1st July this year, if your not confident with the wiring rules you wont pass its as simple as that, but all the best mate gave a go even if you fail you know what to do for the 2nd time round.
Drew i would recomend you get the A class license mate that way you can transfer the license from state to state & get the full sparkies rates, its well worth it, even if you get a company to take you on & something goes wrong you may end up being sent home & thats the worst thing that could happen to you both
