Hi y'all!
I am a young Canadian male (23yrs) who is going to Southport, Australia on a Holiday Work Visa at the beginning of July. I was wondering if anyone had any tips or advice about finding employment there? I do have University Degree in Business, but I will work anywhere!
Thanks for your help!

There is little available work on the coast so I've no idea what you can get. You may be able to get bar/restaurant work but you really need relevant certificates for those or the employer could be liable for fines if there's a problem. Basically you can apply for anything other than anything to do with Government which requires Citizenship.
Good luck and have fun!

Assume you mean here on the Gold Coast. I'm confused as to why people are coming over on a WHV and apparently only intending on staying in one place but maybe I'm getting old.

July 1 is the middle of winter in Gold Coast and you will struggle to get any work. Was down Surfers yesterday and everything was really quiet already.
You will be up against locals looking for work as GC has high unemployment but the number of people with WHV will be low because they will have gone somewhere else with better prospects IMHO.
90% of work on GC is tourism related and their aren't many tourists their at the mo.
Maybe try Brisbane as it's just about commutable from Southport (approx 60-90 min if your lucky) and your quals will be more relevant.

How can 90% of work be tourism related. Lived here 6 years and know no one in tourism related work. It is a city of nearly 600,000 people.

Completely agree, know only a few who work in tourism and also lived here nearly 7 years...some works there if you want it and are willing to be flexiable.
