Thumbs up Songs that speak volumes

My sister bought the IL Divo album and was raving about it.

Now Im not into classical music, I am the 'torture your eardrums' kind of chick.

She was unable to play this record whilst Mum was in hospital and now I understand why.

For those of you that can, try and listen to track 2 on the album, its called 'Mama'.

I took it into work and played it to my boss and caught her wiping her eyes!

And when I go to Australia, these words just about sum it up.

Do any of you guys have a song that means something to you?

Here are the lyrics anyway.

'Mama' by IL Divo

Mama thank you for who I am
Thank you for all the things I'm not
Forgive me for the words unsaid
For the times
I forgot

Mama remember all my life
You showed me love, you sacrificed
Think of those young and early days
How I've changed

Along the way (along the way)
Bridge:
And I know you believed
And I know you had dreams
And I'm sorry it took all this time to see
That I am where I am because of your truth
And I miss you , I miss you

Mama forgive the times you cried
Forgive me for not making right
All of the storms I may have caused
And I've been wrong

Dry your eyes (dry your eyes)
Bridge

Mama I hope this makes you smile
I hope you're happy with my life
At peace with every choice I made
How I've changed
Along the way
And I know you believed in all of my dreams
And I owe it all to you, mama

The rest of the album is pretty fantastic too.

We went to the wine shop in our vet nurses uniform to get the beer in and we sang that song till our voices went and woke up the neighbourhood!

Happy days.

Avril Lavigne 'Happy Ending' reminds me of Canada.

Christina and 'Dirrty' reminds me of Oz.

Britney Spears 'Hit me baby' reminds me of being very drunk in a club in Adelaide.

Funny how songs can take you right back in time to the point you can remember what you wore, ate etc.

What a classic.
I have the original single somewhere.

As a kid I enjoyed listening to my grandads one and only 78....

"Oh I do like a dumpling in me stoodle-oodle-oo
Some people make an awful fuss about their food
And over it they brood
Some prefer to squeeze
And some get up in trees, And others like a steak and kidney pie.
But I do like a dumpling in me stoodle-oodle-oo."
