Default Son wants to leave college

We have applied for a skilled independant visa. I am a registered midwife and am on the MODL list.
Our 19 year old son is in college but wants to leave. we have stated that he is dependant on us but are worried that a check might be done prior to granting of a visa to see if he is still in college.
He would be the last remaining direct relative in the UK
Has anyone had the same experience or have knowledge of this situation

Sorry to hear that, kids really know how to shake things up a bit dont they?

Unfortunately, I don't know the answer but by answering this it will take it to the top again so someone may be able to help you.

By the way, you are not that far from us about half hr away by car, go shopping there quite alot, where do you plan to settle once you hit oz?

Swifty,

Your son must remain to be your dependant if he is to be granted a visa. This is a stated criterion for him to be classified as part of your family unit in the Migration Regulations. If he leaves college, and is no longer dependent on you, he will not be eligible for a visa from your application.

If he ceases to be a dependant before your visa is granted, you must inform DIMIA immediately. Failure to do so may result in problems for your entire application later on, even after your visas are granted.
