Good luck today debbie,
My friend went ot NZ 18 months ago and her ex wouldn't consent to her taking their daughter at first. They had to go to court and I think they decided what is the best interests of the children. Don't know your circumstances, but my friend had a good case as her ex didn't support the child and didn't see her on a regualar basis. Needless to say she won her case, off they went and they are having a ball. Hope the outcome is positive for you too.

arghh, thanks steve, ever thoughtful!
actuall. i just want to make a change to the fee...... get ready, i nearly fell off the bloody chair.......£155 plus VAT!!!!!!!!! £2000 plus vat for court fees :scared:
its one of the partners whos dealing with the case.
things went ok, i'm just praying now that when my ex contacts me later after seeing his solicitor, he realises that we'll both lose a lot of money if we go for the court order! he could end up paying court costs! which from the meanest man in the land, would be a frightening prospect!!!
things sounded positive. the kids will have to talk to a caffcass worker who then gives her opinion to the judge, so they might not even have to speak to a judge. but, because things can drag on, if things aren't sorted soon, then it would be too late to put ryan on the visa application cos he'll be 18 in may.
so, thats the story so far my friends, i'll keep you posted if ex rings me with his decision and thank you all for your kind words of encouragement.
see you sunday at the meet steve

Hopefully your ex will see sense.
What sort of time frame are they talking about the kids seeing a caffcase worker?
Fingers crossed for you
