Default So much for Harry Potter! (time for a whinge)

ARGH!!!! There am I, lulled into a false sense of security by the efficiency of such places as Waterstones, foolishly believing that if I order the new Harry Potter 4 months in advance for delivery on publication, at a reduced price, then I might actually get it..........
No, first I get an email saying the price on the advert was wrong and it'll cost more, then I discover that because its published on a Saturday I won't get it on "the day"....now this evening I get an email from some poxy inefficient bookseller informing me that they didn't order enough stock and I will have to wait another THREE WEEKS!!!! Ye Gods and little fishes, I could have transcribed it in that time!
I shall stick to good old Amazon in future, even allowing for the postage. Dymocks can go whistle.

(sorry, whinge over, I shall now go and read the last Harry again (got that on the day it was published....)

Is this the half blood prince version, boys bought it on sunday at Target $27.95 you could get the kids version, or a black covered adult version No idea what thats all about tho. $27.95 was the hard cover version on special at half price.

Now if anyone has a copy of Horrid Henrys mega mean time machine my little one will gladly give you last weeks pocket money for it.

Same book, just different jackets, but thats the one. I'm hopping mad cos we could've bought it over the weekend if this stupid shop hadn't got my card number for the preorder- at a supposedly lower price! Now I'm at work all week they tell me they can't supply it. Good old customer service

Good old Target . I ordered the boy his copy a couple of months ago and we picked it up from the local Angus & Robertson at 9.01 on Saturday $34.99. No crowds at all, mind it is gympie and most of the locals don't learn to read until they can bet on the gee gee's
Do ya wanna know who the half blood prince is?

Glad to hear its the same book, rich was standing at the front of target scanning the adult version for raunchy bits

Dont think the book usually comes out that cheap, the last one took ages to drop in price so dont feel too bad.

Well if its any consolation Polly mine arrived first thing sat (amazon) I sat down with a large bar of choc and thought right this is me for the day

a few pages in and I realised I couldnt remember anything of the last book so I've had to dig it out and reread that one again. So the new one is on the back burner until I catch up!

Mine's sitting there on first born's bed. She has it first, I will have to wait, cos if I start reading it we will fight over it. She has strict instructions not to say anything including "ooh"

When the last one came out my sister's family all wanted to read it, so the decision was made that they would read together, every evening (bro-in-law, sis, 2 kids about 11 and 9). Everyone was on their honour that they wouldn't read ahead.
They got halfway through the book, then one day my sis had to phone work to speak to her hubby - his workmate said "Can't disturb him, he's got to the last chapter of Harry!"
Flipping cheat! And after making the kids promise too - he said he just couldn't help it, had to go and but another copy and read it in the office

How sad are we? We have a copy each in our household.

When the last one came out, one of my pupils came straight in on the Monday morning and told me who had died As the morning wore on I got more and more wound up about this, so that by break time I kept him in on a detention for spoiling other people's fun!!!
