Had a bit overnight, and it looks grey right now but nothing to write home about. Not enough to drown a mouse, just looks the mouse has peed on the pavement, thats all.

Had a day off yesterday but the rain resumed here today... just shy of the entire week now, non-stop precipitation...

Blue sky for now in Sydney, I'd forgotten what it looked like. Pointless having rain here if all it does is run back into the sea. My garden's enjoyed it though.

Might even put the heater on tonight, it's getting cold enough for it.

We had low dark grey clouds all day and not a piggin drop came out of them. What's that all about:curse: Will have to turn the pump off on the pool tomorrow. Can't justify topping it up just in case it tips it down later:unsure:

Following on from Adelaide's downpour - Melbourne was supposed to get 20-30mm this weekend - apart from a scattered fall Friday night - nothing. There's still time...

Re: So much for the drought.......

From the Age: "Throughout the north and west of the state, pretty much everywhere got between 20 and 40 millimetres — and right through the grain belt, many places were over 40 millimetres," weather bureau duty forecaster Michael Halfpenny said. Melbourne's average April rainfall is 57.6 millimetres.

"Most of the north-east got between 20 and 30 millimetres too, and in the alps up to 70 millimetres." Nearly 90 millimetres fell at Mount William in the Grampians and 89 millimetres in nearby Horsham.

"It's probably too early to say definitely that this is the beginning of the end of the drought," said Dr Blair Trewin from the National Climate Centre, "but … it's certainly the sort of system which, if we saw follow-up after it, we'd look back on and say this was the beginning of the break".

"If this system proves to be totally isolated, you might not call it that but it's the most promising system we've seen for a long time."

Can't say fairer than that.

We've had a lot of rain here too, had a big storm last Sunday and it rained Monday, then it was nice all week but yesterday really heavy showers on and off all day and same today. In fact I think this weather is forecast to last until Saturday. Lovely to see some rain for a change and it sure does the lawn and plants some good!

Lots of rain in Perth too. On the radio this morning it said the rainfall was well above average for this time of year. Good news i'd say.
