So let me get this right.......?????
Our appication was lodged at the end of January, 2005. Monies sent off soon after.Have not been requested to do Meds/Police Checks yet but have had Police Checks done and have got Meds/X-rays this coming Monday. So we will be sending them off un-requested.
We are going over on a Skilled 136 visa.
So how long does anyone think it should take after we send off un-requested stuff?? Anyone in the same boat??
Look forward to hearing from anyone and everyone!!

It took us 3 months and 7 days from sending our application in to getting our visa. Once we'd sent the meds and police checks off we heard via e-mail about 4 weeks later that we'd been granted our visa.( a very happy day!)
All the best and good luck. You can always try looking at austime line ( soz don't know the actual web address but I'm sure someone will post it for me)

Yes we've got a 136 skilled ind visa. We booked our medicals for 14th Dec and the actual request came on the 15th. We'd asked the sec not to send the medicals till we had our case number on it. So our timing wasn't bad at all. We got our police checks already done so that when DIMIA requested it we could send them off straight away, but because of xmas they didn't get sent until 5th Jan. Visa granted 7th Feb. Hope this is helpful

So going by this, we will have heard by Xmas?? We have a business to sell and a dog to get ready for travel over!! It would just be nice to know a time span - our agent just doesn't seem to give us any positive info.
When are you going out and where??

Hi GuySorry to be a pain the bum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So you think its a good idea to send off police checks and medicals before they have been requested?? It won't do us any harm or put us back??

We're not going to send our police checks or meds until requested, which should be anywhere from 8-12 weeks!
I've requested the police checks so they're ready though as they take up to 40 days...

No not at all, I wish I had done it. But remember that your will have to validate your visa whithin one year of the medical or Police which ever was done first.

Mainly because:
a) we're not in any mad rush to get our visas, obviously would be nice to get them sooner rather than later but no real deadline
b) house not ready to go on market yet and dont want the possibility of having to validate because the house isnt sold!
Our agent said it's best to wait, but some people front load.

Us, on the other hand, cannot blooming wait!! Only thing to hold us up will be the sale of our restaurant!! Arghhhhhhhhhhhh!!
Plus the fact Mother in law isn't talking to me since we announced our Aussie plans!! Would be nice to be in another country!
