How long before the medical did you have it done ?

As it would be close for us, if it's done after the medical would we have to tell them ?
I was going around with a wheelbarrow for 2 weeks after

Would suggest allowing 1 month before meds.

Alternatively I think they give you a free radio in India

Did you have the conventional snip, or the no scalpel version ?

Eh...? I woz back to work a couple of days after, no wheelbarrow either. Just one of those ridiculous 'safety net' things they give you.

I wasn't planning on them testing his fertility !!

I was thinking more along the lines of the fact that it might be seen as an opertaion with potential complications etc and whether they would want us to wait for a bit to see if any complications arose

I was put under for my op. Didn't get a choice.

Blimey, I didn't know there was more than one way but judging by the size they went he must have used a blunt instrument :scared:

No safety net either

Yikes, I've been looking at the No Scalpel version, 5 minutes, local anesthetic, off home 30 minutes later.

Alternatively is this something he'd be able to have done free on medicare in Oz ? (Just in case I don't manage to 'persuade' him in time ?)

Thanks - Heather
Your husband needs to make his own mind up without your 'persuasion'.

Alternatively have a look at:

I did look into that but my doctor wouldn't supply it as it was too expensive and there are alternative options which are cheaper on the market !!

I currently have the jab which is fab (although couldn't continue forever) but if I have to start paying for it it's making me rethink my options

You can get it on Medicare in Australia, unless you've had a hystorectomy or been sterilized.

i.e. if it's for contraception it's on Medicare, if it is to control heavy periods it isn't.

Thanks - Heather

I had mine done just before coming to Oz, while the doc was hacking away I was chatting to the nurse about moving to Oz upon which she remarked "Oh it must take a lot of balls to do something like that" my response was that I no longer had the same amount of balls..................

Everone started laughing including the doc with the big knife in one hand and my balls in the other - great moment................. and 100% true.
