Default sms phone bill

hi just got my mobile phone bill and i seem to have been charged for sms messages that i did not send or recieve
has any one had a similar problem
net work is telstra
$200 extra :scared:

Are you being charged for receiving sms's? am not familiar with Optus charges, but other countries phone companies will charge you if you are receiving sms's from overseas.

You sure?? I've never been charged for incoming SMS's. Incoming calls yes. Texts no.

Telstra prepaid doesn't do that, so I'm fairly sure the contracts won't.

Ring them and see what they say about it

I presume you realise that you pay a separate fee for every page sent. One text that is five pages long is charged as 5 texts.....not one. Are you not on a capped plan?

Yep - with my prepaid sim card, I get charged for receiving sms'.

That is terrible!!!!! I cannot understand why you would get charged for recieving text messages?!

I pay .25c per text message with Vodafone but I am on prepay maxi cap $49 and even with making heaps of texts (mainly to UK) since 28th Nov - I haven't even used $90 of the $230 worth of credit I get.

Sounds a bit fishy being charged for recieving text messages!

Yes its true, like I said, some countries charge you for receiving text messages. I am not based in Australia.
