The next steps....Firstly I will need a $100 Deposit by 10th June which can be returned up to 3 days before we jump if any body bottles it at the last minute.

I also need everybody’s full name and weight. So if you would like to PM me those details if you don't want it published on the tin-ternet

Maximum weight is 100KG so I will be missing a couple of meals and having a decent dump before going

The whole experience will take approx 2 hours, that includes the basic training needed for the tandem jump. So if we meet at Redcliffe for 10:00 we should be finished at Sutton's Beach around 12:00ish for a picnic/BBQ if anybody is interested.

If you require any further information PM or ring.

See ya

Have PM'd you. Had a check on the web but couldn't work out which company it was so will need an address to come to. Might have to do a dummy run (up to Redcliffe - not out of an aeroplane ) as I will be a bit nervous anyway without worrying that hubby will get lost

I have wanted to do this for soooo long but no idea why I have never done it. Probably the kids saying things like "I don't want you to die mummy "

Hi Neil & Shell,

I'll get Steve to pm you his details and he'll discuss how to get the dollars to you. Should be a great weekend, watch Coldplay the night before then watch my beloved throw himself out of plane the next day!

Hi all

We are booked in for the morning of 24th June, we won't get an exact time until the week before, but as a guide we will need to be at Redcliffe for about 0900. There will be instructions and briefing for about an hour it will take around 20-30 minutes flight time, hopefully be on the beach in one piece by about 1045-1100 for BBQ and medals!!!.

There will be a DVD shot of the whole day and there is a viewing area at Sutton's beach to watch it and if you want to buy one it is $99.

Between us we can organize transport from Sutton's beach to Redcliffe if everybody is staying for BBQ after.

If anybody else is interested we can still add people to the list up to one week before. PM if you’re keen.

So far we have a magnificent 7

Look on the bright side. Every lob I've done I've been a bit busy or I've never had time to admire the view or have some bastard trying to cut me up.

One of these days I'll do another jump just for myself. Nice and easy. Like stepping off a bus on Oxford Street during Christmas shopping.

Hi all

Deposits have been paid and the 9 brave souls are:

Me (Neil)
Mik
Trish
Steve
Penny
Greig
Damien
Simon
Glen

If you loose your bottle I need to know by Monday 19 after that date you will loose your deposit.

Times are still not confirmed and won’t be until Thursday 22nd, as that is when the flying schedule is sorted out. At the moment it is looking like meeting between 08:00Hrs and 10:00Hrs at Suttons Beach. I will post exact time Thursday night/ Friday Morning and I will also PM my mobile number in case of any problems.

A rough guide to the plan on the day.

BBQ party and jumping party will all meet up at Suttons beach at a time TBC on Saturday Morning. Transport is provided to Redcliffe Aerodrome for the jumpers. Land back at Suttons beach (Hopefully!!) approx 1 Hour after departing for Tea and Medals and heroic stories!!!oh and a BBQ. Sutton Beach has a few electric BBQ so depending on how busy the place is on the weekend it may be safer to have food which doesn’t need cooking, we are going to chance it and take burgers!!

Each jumper will have a dvd shot by the instructor with the opportunity to view it at Sutton beach and an option to buy it for $99. Cost on the day will be $179 for the jump.

I will also send this post via e mail to ensure everybody reads it. I don’t have Glen’s email so can somebody forward it on please.

Cheers.

Confirmation of times will be Thursday night / Friday Morning.

Not long now

This is my advice for parachute jumps:

If you can't remember your landing drills and can't work out the wind direction,
I'd get as tight as you can, and shut your eyes in the last bit.

This stops you reaching out for the ground, and anticipating the impact.
Wait for the ground to hit you, not 'you' the ground.

A good jump is a jump you get up from.

Enjoy!

Worked for me most of the time, we gave up on the training after a while, often there wasn't time to get in to the right position, especially after you'd bumped off another blokes chute, or had a guy chasing you all over the sky.

I was more glad to get shot of my equipment before I landed. I was more then inclined to take whatever landing I could get.
