Hi, Did a quick points check online the other day and we're quite a way off the 120 needed. OH has been in the same type of employment since his teens and is now in a good managerial position, but cause hes worked his way up hes not got the degree/diploma they want to back up his skill.
He's taking it ok BUT I'M NOT watched Wanted Down Under this morning and I feel in love with the place all over again!
I'll go and freeze on the school run now then......

Hello Tracey
I know exactly how you are feeling. We are in the same boat! I am a registered childminder with loads of certificates & experience & have my own childminding business working from home, but thats not good enough!! This is my website. www.mummydaycare.net
My husband is a sales manager for a constuction company, but has no certificates to back him up!
I now have to go & re-train for something that will give us the points we need to make our dream of living in Australia come true.
But, as they say, what will be will be!
I hope you make your dreams come true too!!!
Take care
Kelly

Hi Tracey as others have said, don't give up hope just yet. Talk to an agent about your chances. Other people have done it without having all the certificates etc... to back up their experience. Good luck!
Hi Kelly I thought childcare workers were on the demand list ? If you have all your certificates and loads of experience etc.. why have you got to re train?
Best of luck to you both,

Hello Mrs JFW
The childcare on the list is for an childcare co-ordinator! Apparently, that is someone who has a nursery (pre school) with lots of children & who employs staff! I have worked at nursery schools, been a nanny, helped in the infants class in a school & now have my own business working at home but only have 2 children (as well as my own 4 kids). I have worked with children since I left school & studied childcare at college! I have a BTEC 1st certificate, 1st Aid, a foundation course certificate & childminding certificates! But it seems, thats not good enough!!!
I am 35 years old & now have to think about doing something else
We so badly want to move to Australia, that I will do whatever to get there!!

I've been told to re-train, Save money or just apply for a cooking course in OZ!!! At that time we were looking to move to Perth & apperently, there are only 2 courses available in Perth! Now we are thinking about Queensland, but haven't really got anywhere definate in mind!! I have sent emails to 2 childcare agencies, but unfortunatly, they can not help me & said my best bet would be to re-train!
So now, i'm looking into some different courses! So fingers crossed that something comes up soon!

I have spoken to a number of agents & they have all told me something different! One agent even told me I would stand a better chance if I married an Australian!!! Even though I told them about my husband!!!! lol

Have you tried www.ianharrop.co.uk tel.01993824111 ? Lots of agents told us different things, but it was him who came up trumps for us though(although our situation is differen to yours) One agent even suggested we go to Aus on a temp student visa!!! bear in mind we have two kids too. Worth a try. C x
