single parent advice please
Hi, I have some job offers in Australia as a midwife and I am also a single parent who will be moving with young children. Please can anyone give me advice/ information in regards to this. Is there anyone out there who was a single parent and moved? Also some advice on help with childcare costs/ options and budget accomodation/areas. I have choices of Sydney, Perth and Canberra. Thanks to anyone who replies.

The following Payments to help raise children will be available to you, subject to which Visa you are on.

- Family Tax Benefit Part A - for parents or carers to help with the cost of raising children.
- Family Tax Benefit Part B - for single income families or sole parents.
- Child Care Benefit - for families to help with the cost of child care.
- Rent Assistance may also be paid, if you get more than the base rate of Family Tax Benefit Part A, paid fortnightly, and pay rent privately.
