Singapore Airport - transit help for elderly passengers
Hi all,
This post may be a bit off topic for the forum. But, I thought someone might have the right information I am looking for.
My elder brother is living in Melbourne (and I shall be joining in few months). My parents are visiting my brother and his family in Melbourne in few days. They got tickets on Singapore Airlines. Their flight is Dhaka-Singapore-Melbourne.
The issue is, both of them are quite elderly and are totally not familiar with airport transfers. They are first time going through transit. Singapore Airport is a large one and they might not be able to find and catch the connecting flight. They may not be smart enough to do it themselves.
I am looking for any affordable service (if any) which I can book online and they will escort them from arrival to the gate of the connecting flight.
I Googled and found one service (Plaza Premium). But unfortunately, they accept payment through PayPal only (Which I cannot have). I can pay only via credit card (I have card from my local bank and also from Commonwealth Bank of Australia -- both are good for online payment).
I found another service offered by MasterCard (or their affiliate), which is too expensive (USD200+).
If anyone have any helpful information on this issue, please let me know.
Thanks in advance.

Also, to reassure them, Singapore airport is very well signed, and easy to use, one of the best around even for novice travellers.

Re: Singapore Airport - transit help for elderly passengers
My mother came over for a visit (before she immigrated) and at the time was in a wheelchair post surgery... The staff at Singapore airlines COULDNT have been more helpful and attentive...
She visited again without the wheelchair and I simply contacted the airline and told them she was older, not very mobile and couldn't lift baggage... And they treated her like the Queen....

I agree, Singapore Airline staff are really helpful. When my Mum flew to Australia (even with my sister there) they couldn't do enough to make the transit easy. They didn't phone in advance either, the staff just stepped in when they noticed they were a bit 'confused'
Don't worry, they'll be fine.
