Should I put my house up for sale yet?

Should I put my house up for sale yet?
I am at the stage where I am almost ready to send my skilled 136 visa application off (next Friday)
I have been told by a few people to put my house on the market, but have not done anything about it yet.
The main reason is, I am scared that we will put it up for sale, and knowing our luck, it'll either sell before the visa's granted, or we may be unsuccessful with our application.
Has anyone else put their house up before they've applied? I would appreciate some advice please, as it scares the s**t out of me :scared:
Tia,
P.S Sorry Ann for dragging my heels

hello JFW again, I am putting my house up when my sister has paid the bond and I know it has been received by the DIMIA. Then I am going to put my house on the market. I am a little scared to do so for the same reasons as JFW
I do know mad people who have done it though lol

Part of me says, maybe I should put my house up for sale in case it takes ages to sell, and the other part says ...NO, DON'T DO IT! :scared:

Now here we are, had the visa 3 months and still not sold the house, guess it also depends on how the market is around your way.
Good luck

So if you receive an offer on the house and you are not ready...can you just take it off the market?
We were first time buyers 3 years ago, so we're not very experienced at house selling

Yeah...I'd put it on the market if I knew for sure that the visa's were on their way, but I wouldn't do anything unless I was certain they were gonna give me a visa first though.

Yes as long as contracts not been signed you can withdraw, though its obviously not good practice.

I live in a street of houses that are just over 3 years old, and there is one which has been for sale since end of September, but it isn't as nice as mine, as it has not a fence or gate, and is totally open, and has not got UPVC double glazing like mine.
Since we moved in 3 yrs ago there have been about 3 come up for sale, and they have all took under six months to sell, but that doesn't say much

Around here nothing is selling, there are two that have been on the market for over a year and the others for more than 6 months. We are in the peak district and prices are riddiculus no hope for first time buyers.
Where I come from my mate has just sold hers within a week!!! but it is in a lower price range.
