Re: Should I move back to Aus?

Some mates came over to Aus (Perth) in their late 50's and got a 35 year house loan. At the time they were on one wage (part time postie).

I'm in IT (Developer) and I'd say that Perth has less jobs available, but then there are even less people to fill them.

For $500k you'd find a house within 60mins of the city easily.

Perth CBD is still booming. What it'll be like in a bust is anyones guess.

A part time Postie, with a Motor Bike licence in Perth, would absoultely definitely have full time hours (after 3 months or so) and more available if he/she wanted to. Which would equate to easily between 60 to 70K plus super. Seperate bundle delivery failed for safety reasons, so they are at least 15pct short of posties nationwide. They keep trying to fill the vacancies with people from the sub continent under very strict supervision, they keep failing ;)

Perths the only place in Aus where Posties start on the 3rd year wage.

I'm a proud ping ponger currently living in Oz taking advantage of the better salaries and job opportunities. Will I return to the UK - probably at some point. I think being able to ping pong is nice gift rather than seeing it as a regret from moving from one place to another

agree whole heartedly.. from a fellow table tennis master.

i am inextricably torn when asked "where do you prefer?"

we are so lucky in an age when two pasports is acceptable.. the choice of preference is one that i can make based on the moment... if am grateful for what i have today, and the choice, then that allows me to live in that moment
