Shopping in Melbourne
Hi friends,
Just wondering if you let me know some shopping centers for daily and weekly shoppings (with all relevant quality factors you know!).
*For daily and weekly pls! not interested in tourist attracting centers!
Tnx

The only place I know by name is Chadstone which is east of the city, which is a 400 shop shopping mall (in Chadstone of course) I was there last week, and they have EVERYTHING.
When OZ wakes up, they can give you some more help.

Melbourne is full of Malls, depends where you live! Eastern suburbs have Chandstone, Knox City, Doncaster, Forest Hill (smaller)....

We went recently to a big shopping centre in Southlands, has coles, myers, kmart, Big W, Safeways and loads of other shops as well.
Hope this helps

Southlands my local but I now go to Prahan for the market and Aldi.
Brunswick would be Northlands or Highpoint but I'd stay away from Northlands at the moment until the legionaires scare has gone away.
You can also go into the city. Vic markets which is just down Sydney Road and past Melbourne Uni and Royal Melbourne Hospital (for some landmarks) and slightly north of the city is the best bet for fresh fruit and veg and meat and fish, but don't do what we did first and buy all you meat from one butcher, without checking the eating quality first.
Good luck with all the road closures during the Commonwealth games.
Also, there is a Safeways and a Big W at the relatively Queen Vic centre on Lonsdale Street and they so 2 hours free parking if you spend over $60.
As to finding somewhere to live, check out domain.com.au It's one of the better websites and it can then link you into some of the agents websites.
