Just a quick bookmark - been offered a job today - yay! I take it all these quotes inlcude you not having to lift a finger, i.e. they pack everything - furniture, linen, crockery etc? And they have the fun of getting the bed down the stairs, not me?

Yes, they pack the lot. I was advised to leave everything in situ, i.e. leave the crockery in the cupboard etc as they label the boxes with each room as they pack. That way, when they unpack at the other end, the boxes can be put into the right rooms.
Slight sticking point with beds/cupboards. Both companies said they preferred it if I dismantle them myself though other posts on here say that the removal men did this for them. I suppose it might be a case of have a go at getting all the dismantling done myself and hope the removal men help out if I am behind schedule (which is a strong possibility)!
I have now received the quote from Crown which comes in at just under £4k. This includes AQUIS inspection fees, though there is no guarantee that the container WILL be inspected so I suppose there is a chance I could be paying for something that doesn't happen.
Storage prices were largely similar to PSS.
I will have to give this some thought before deciding on who to go with and then which insurance option to go for.

We've just had a quote from masons for a 20ft sole use from manchester to perth for $3100 I'm not sure if to bother with insurance - think i've seen a thread on here which said its a waste of time
I'll have a search for it!
Also - going on a 457 and wasnt asked about visa type or aware of any extra charge, think your being conned there

I agree, seems pretty fair, they were recommended by a friend and so far all correspondence have been quick, professional and very helpful
I'll let you know how it all unpacks at the other end though
