Hi there,

We are thinking of shipping a moped to Adelaide with us. Does anyone have any idea of how much it would cost once we have it there, things like registration, tax etc?

Is it a good idea (we have enough room in our container so will not cost us any extra this end).

I am thinking of doing the same thing with my motorbike. I'm figuring that because it's about 12 years old it's valuation will be low so the import duty will be likewise. It's almost as good as new and has only 15000 miles on the clock. Does anyone know what the costs are likely to be - or even how it's calculated?

and google the aussie customs, quarantine and vehicle licencing websites. Licencing requirements are different in each state, but these websites cover pretty much everything you need to know, and if you have other questions give them a call - they're really helpful once you've got through the computer system to a real person!
