andy, im a mini nut too, hoping to bring my Cooper 500 over with me. I can understand why he wants to take it as it will increase in value as minis are much rarer out in Oz. Mine will increase by more than the shipping costs so it makes it worthwhile. What model of mini is it?

Don't forget it will need to be made legal in Oz before it can be registered, speedo in KPH etc etc.

Here is all you need to know about exporting a car

I think regardless of the cost, Stewart will be exporting his Mini. He plans to be buried in it. If he could marry it and have kids with it, I'd be out of a job.

we are takin our 1964 austin mini. Apparently no tax to pay as it is over thirty years old, we will have 40ft container and have it shipped with rest of goods. Its a mini so wont take too much space!!

They are around in Aus, just much fewer and farer between. The were sold in aus in the 70s and 80s too, the bodyshells were shipped over from here and assembled and slightly modified for the aus market.
